Winnisquam Athletics recognized and honored senior guard Phil Nicholson February 19th for reaching the significant milestone of scoring 1,000 varsity points during his high school career with a special presentation during Winnisquam Regional High School's Boys Varsity Basketball game vs Newfound Regional High School in the WRHS gym. Entering the game Nichols needed six points, Nichols scored his 1,000th career point with 5:48 on the clock in the second quarter by scoring a three point bucket from the baseline.

Athletic Director John Larsen presented Phil with a special commemorative game ball. Phil's parents and Head Basketball Coach Kevin Dame were invited to join Phil on the court during the celebration to be recognized for their contributions to Phil's success.

Nichols joins an elite group of players in the State of New Hampshire and only eight other boys basketball athletes in school history to reach this achievement. Please join us in congratulating Phil Nichols for reaching this accomplishment. Congratulations Phil!

Winnisquam went on to win the game 63-25. The Bears will be in action in the final week of the 20-21 season next week vs. Plymouth High School before beginning the NHIAA DIII Playoffs.
